We are always looking for committed and qualified volunteers to help us run The Job Forum as a panelist or to help us to manage and run the marketing and social media activities of The Job Forum.
Job Forum Volunteer Management
Janet Beach serves the Job Forum as Chairman.
Kathy Knudson who is a longtime panelists is our Director of New Panelists, she helps us interview, vet and welcome new panelist volunteers. She is assisted by another volunteer, Laura Lyons, in this capacity.
Bill Pollak is our Director of Special Events. He is a longtime panelist volunteer and recently has helped out spearheading University Nights at the Job Forum where we focus on alumni or current students and provide an exciting evening of networking; career advice and counsel.
Roger Brooks, Laura Haggerty, Arthur Young, Kathy Knudson and Bill Pollak are part of the marketing committee for the Job Forum. The group works with Janet Beach and Janet’s assistant, Farryn Lewis, to increase awareness of the Job Forum and attract job seekers to the Wednesday evening sessions.
Become a Panelist
The Job Forum Panel is a fun, rewarding and prestigious volunteer opportunity sponsored by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. We will consider all panelists who are interested in helping others to succeed in job search or career transition. We are especially seeking volunteers with career experience in engineering, technology, finance, marketing, e-commerce, communications, academia and sales.
To be selected for the Job Forum Panel, you must primarily be looking for the satisfaction that comes from the service and encouragement of others. We do not welcome to the panel individuals whose primary wish is to sell their own or their company’s services.
Even if you believe you are not yet knowledgeable about all aspects of job search, you will be trained and learn quickly by working with fellow panelists. All those with a “teaching spirit” interested in helping others are encouraged to observe a Job Forum meeting and apply.
The Job Forum volunteer work is very satisfying and gives you a direct line to those who need advice. There is almost no bureaucracy in this organization only the satisfaction of working with other great people and seeing an immediate “break through” among the job searchers you advise and help.
