The Job Forum Business Veteran’s Career Advisory Panel
A new service for Job Hunting Veterans
The Job Forum Business Veterans Career Advisory panel is a new Job Forum initiative. The goal is to help veterans who are job hunters to better translate and present their transferrable skills to stand out and match the qualities businesses want to hire as managers.
The Job Forum has attracted a panel of business managers who are veterans yet work in fields such as technology, biotech, cybersecurity, finance and who are themselves in roles such as sales, program management and more.
The program of job hunting advice and job search support will be delivered in several ways:
1 to 1 advising: a cadre of 15 -25 business experts who are veterans who offer specific times to meet job hunter veterans on Tuesdays in daytime or evening.
Meetings are In 1-to-1 sessions by phone with one businessperson who is a former veteran who meets in 30 minute session with one job hunting veteran. (small fee to guarantee attendance)
Panel discussions: speaker panel discussion with 6-7 business experts on each panel who are veterans and managers in businesses.
In 2 hour group discussions on zoom there will be a speaker discussion panel made up of 6-7 experts who were in the military and work in industries and companies who meet to help job hunters, give them candid job search advice and answer job hunting veterans’ questions. Helpful actionable discussion topics with business veterans are interspersed with opportunities for job hunter veterans to ask their own questions, about their own job hunting situations, and get tips and suggestions from the panel.
Typical Agenda:
– 15 minutes intro of Job Forum and veteran businesspeople
– 60 minutes of moderated discussion with veteran businesspeople delivering answers to pre-prepared questions designed to give lots of expertise and job hunting guidance to job hunting veterans in an efficient time and manner so that Q&A can go deeper
– 2 ,15 minute Q&A sessions with questions coming from Job hunting veterans
– 15 minute feedback, summary, next steps, upcoming events

Small group mentoring program that lasts over 4-6 weeks (fee to ensure attendance and commitment)
